Paris’ romance calms mom

The hotel heiress found fame on reality TV show The Simple Life alongside Nicole Richie, which saw the pair somewhat unsuccessfully attempt different types of labour.

Now Paris dedicates her time to following her dream as a DJ and is dating model River Viiperi, which has brought her family some relief.

"River is very loving and cares about me, so, of course, every mother likes the man who makes their daughter happy," she smiled to the British edition of OK! magazine.

"I'm always travelling and spend little time at home, so having someone who cares for me is wonderful. My mother thinks this is great and it gives her tranquillity."

Paris has had her fair share of failed relationships in the past, including dalliances with club owner Cy Waits, soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo and reality star Doug Reinhardt.

Despite romantic disappointments, Paris, 32, couldn't be happier with 22-year-old River.

"Every relationship is different, I don't compare them," she shrugged.

"I only know that my present exceeds my past. River is a charming, handsome man and he is always happy - that makes me feel very special."

With a ten-year age gap, there could be worries the pair don't have much in common.

However, Paris insists they're "only numbers" and even hints "time will tell" whether they will eventually tie the knot.
