Pattinson for "The Lost City Of Z"

pattinson for the lost city of z

It has been a while since Robert Pattinson made the news for something other than his personal life, but this time, it is reported that "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2" will join Benedict Cumberbatch in "The Lost City Of Z".
The film is an adaptation of David Grann's non-fiction novel about the legendary British explorer Percy Fawcett who, in 1925, disappeared with his son in the Amazon while looking for an ancient lost city. For decades, explorers and scientists have tried to find evidence of his party and the Lost City of Z, including Grann, who made his own journey into the Amazon, revealing new evidence about how Fawcett died and showing that Z may have really existed right under his feet. It is not yet known whether Pattinson will be playing one of the explorers who followed Cumberbatch's Percy Fawcett on his journey or an explorer searching for the truth like Grann.
Cumberbatch took over the lead after entering talks in September when Brad Pitt pulled out and will only be on board to produce via Plan B Entertainment. The film will be directed by James Gray, whose film "The Immigrant" just premiered in the United States.
Gray will be directing the film from his own script, although production dates have not yet been set. Meanwhile, Pattinson recently wrapped up filming on "Maps To The Stars", which is directed by his "Cosmopolis" director David Cronenberg, and David Michod's thriller "The Rover".
He is scheduled to appear in "Mission: Blacklist" and Werner Herzog's "Queen Of The Desert" next.
