Samuel L. Jackson takes Stephen King's "Cell"

Samuel L. Jackson has just been confirmed for a role in the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel "Cell", which will also star John Cusack.
John Cusack will play the protagonist Clayton Riddell while Samuel L. Jackson will play Tom McCourt, a middle-aged man who teams up with Clayton in the initial chaos created by the Pulse.
Based on the apocalyptic horror novel published by Stephen King in 2006, the story follows a New England artist struggling to reunite with his young son after a mysterious signal broadcast over the global cell phone network turns the majority of his fellow humans into vicious zombies.
The film will be directed by Tod "Kip" Williams, with the screenplay to be written by Stephen King and Adam Alleca.
Production is set to begin in January with Benaroya Pictures financing. Both actors previously appeared the film adaptation of Stephen King's short story of the same name, "1408" in 2007, directed by Mikael Håfström.
Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson has also been confirmed for a lead role alongside Michael Caine in "Harry And The Butler", to be directed by George C. Wolfe.
